Jaundice:
For very acute jaundice: Take equal quantities of local “kirivath” and “katukarohini”, mix them together add as much quantity (of this mixture) of dry ginger and powder it finely and store. Dissolve 1 tbsp. of this mixture with a cup of water and boil it to reduce to half cup. Eat half of this quantity in the morning and half in the evening. Repeat for a few days.
A teaspoon of tamarind pulp with jaggery and a paste of cumin seed is given thrice daily for treating jaundice, nausea, vomitting and giddiness.
For treatment of jaundice: Take 10 gms. of turmeric powder and mix it with 75 gms. of curds and eat it daily before sunrise for a few days.
Jaundice can be cured as follow : Take 5—6 cloves of pepper and I gm. of rock-salt and grind it along with 10 gms of juice of'’thumbe” leaves and ‘eat this quantity each time thrice a day for a few days. The juice of “thumbe” should also be applied as mascara to the eyes.
