Dysentery:
If you do not have any tablets at hand for dysentry, grind to a fine paste some curry leaf twigs and mix this paste in half a glass of lassi (butter-milk) and drink it 3 or 4 times a day. This cures dysentery and diarrhoea. The juice of pomegranate fruit is a well known remedy for mild diarrhoea and dysentery accompanied by a suitable diet, for instance of arrowroot kanji.
Here is a sure remedy for any kind of dysentery: Mangoes are generally boiled and preserved in salt water for use during meals as pickle etc. After these mangoes are thus preserved for a year or more (older the better), the kernel out of the mango seed may be
removed and ground to a paste along with a little jeera (cummin- seed ) in 1 litre-of pure milk and this mixture may be divided into two equal parts and administered to the patient to drink twice at an interval of 6 hours.
The dysentery will be cured miraculously. Some people preserve salted mangoes for years for this purpose. In case of dysentery and sprue, dry ginger powder mixed with butter-milk, if taken after meals will help.
