Diphtheria Solution

Diphtheria is an acutely infectious disease.   It is most common in children and in cold season.  It is caused by a specific germ and is characterised by patches of greyish membrane on the tonsils and in the throat.

Un-treated, the membrane can choke the patient to death.  Complete immunization against this malady can be made by administering the appropriate serum when the child is but a few months old.

The severity of diphtheria in a patient can however be minimized by administering few drops of pineapple juice.   The first few drops may not pass through the throat, but will surely clean it. This juice possesses the power to gradually cut through the diseased membrane. If possible, this membrane can be carefully cut open through the end of a silver spoon by a qualified person.  Hospitalization of the patient is best and is a must.
