1) Using Ghost- Install Windows in 4 minutes: Windows corruption, lagging, dll errors, and other problems will be faced by many users, now to get rid of the same mostly users do a reinstall which would take some 40 - 80 mins. How about doing this in 4 mins? Yes! this can be done. All you have to do is use ghost.
Backup important data.
Assuming you have 2 - 4 partition on the hard drive, format C:\.
Now install windows, install drivers and also install softwares which are often used by you, while installing softwares choose the drive as D:\. Install all softwares in a single folder with sub directories.
Once you are done with intalling, boot your machine in dos mode and make an image of your C: drive with the help of Norton Ghost.
Now When ever your machine goes down, just dump that image and you will have fresh windows in no time .
Avoid saving data on C drive as while dumping the new windows you will lose that data.

2) When Booting windows hold the shif key to load the windows faster.
3) Having programs and calling then from quick launch will load the programs faster.
4) Have less number of icons on the desktop, this will speed up your PC.
5) In windows 3D Text screensaver, add text Volcano to see names of various Volcanos.
6) Lock a Folder from DOS - “ren foldername press ALT123, leave, press ALT456″ now you cannot open the folder from windows. Top open it remane again to any name. “ren ALT123, leave, press ALT456 somename”
7) Shift + Right Click on any file to open with a specific program.
