Moisturizing - the cornerstone of good skin care. Moisturizing forms a barrier between the skin and

environmental conditions. Moisturizer helps to form a fine, protective layer that enables the skin to retain the moisture it requires. Moisturizing is essential for all types of skin including oily skin. Dry skin and ageing skin derive the maximum benefits from a moisturizer. Lack of moisture on the skin causes skin to become dry and more prone to wrinkling. Moisturizers come in two forms liquid and cream. Rich, liquid and cream moisturizers take care of dry and wrinkled skin. Water - based, oil free moisturizer works best for oily skin. Herbal moisturizers are very light. They not only help to protect the skin but also assist in evaporating excess ofmoisture.

  • Ideally, moisturizers are applied after thorough cleansing and toning of your skin.
  • Moisturizer may be used before make-up to serve as a protective base.
  • Use a moisturizer on light consistency, as it will assist your make-up to hold better.
  • For dry skin, you may apply a moisturizer even after a face pack. At night, dry skin requires a heavier moisturized  feed for  your skin.
  • An excellent moisturizer protects skin from premature.

Moisturizing cream for different skin types: preparations

       Ingredients: 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 teaspoon lanolin

2 teaspoon glycerine

I teaspoon beeswax

I teaspoon emulsifying wax

I ‘/4 teaspoon Borax

3 tablespoons water.

Method.:Melt oil, wax and lanolin using the double boiling method. Heat water and borax until borax is completely dissolved. Stir in glycerin. Add very slowly, the borax, glycerin and water to the melted waxes while still under heat Stir continuously with a wooden spatula until thick Cool it.

Moisturizer for oily skin

Ingredients:    I 1/2 teaspoon almond oil

I teaspoon lanolin

1/2 table spoon olive oil

1 1/2 tablespoon emulsifying wax

2 teaspoon glycerin

6 tablespoons rose water.

  Method:  Melt waxes using double boiling method and add almond and olive oil. Stir in glycerin and hot rose water slowly. Continue to stir until the mixture is cold.
